The face behind

"For me, the strongest solution is the fascination of uncertainty"

The founder, owner and team captain of iii solutions is Swiss-citizen Andreas Reinhard (1956), who established and directed the research and development company prospective concepts from 1992 to 2007. As a spiritus rector and impatient accomplisher, he and his team developed various spectacular aviation projects, such as the ray-shaped pneumatic technology carrier STINGRAY, the KÄNGURU demonstrator taking off from standstill, the adaptive ZAFU passenger seat, and the self-regulating liquid-filled LIBELLE anti-G suit. Under his auspices, terrestrial projects such as the variable bowspoiler for a German sports car, the seat series DER Chair for a globally active industrial company or the self-luminous TOIBRIGHT toilet spectacle were successfully launched.

The time at "Gottlieb Duttweiler-Institut" in Rüschlikon turned out to be defining his later career: he was working as a project manager being deeply involved in energy and mobility issues. He was also able to work as a personal employee for Migros' then head of the company.

Simultaneously, starting in 1977 he further set up solar emergency call stations for the Swiss Air-Rescue REGA in the Alpine area, such as those in the Solvay hut on the Matterhorn at 4'007 m or Cabanna Margherita at 4'554 m in the Monte Rosa massif, the highest of its kind in the Alpine area.

For more than 35 years, he has been concentrating on the subjects of light-weight construction, aviation, energy, sensor technology, actuation, and ergonomics. He and his colorful teams continuingly managed "to start" tricky things on behalf of medium and large companies.

During 11 years he was the head of the former military flight place St. Stephan in the Upper Simmental, which he and his teams used as test and trial basis. As a pilot, he has flown 98 different types of aircraft and helicopters, in addition to hot air balloons.

He is creator of the saying "Anyone who wants to fly needs to stay down to earth", which describes the constant balancing act between the ambitious unknown and the solid HYPERLINK "//www.dict.cc/englisch-deutsch/the.html"HYPERLINK "//www.dict.cc/englisch-deutsch/tried.html"tried HYPERLINK "//www.dict.cc/englisch-deutsch/and.html"and HYPERLINK "//www.dict.cc/englisch-deutsch/trusted.html"trusted.
